Experience the Icefiord north of Nuuk

The glaciers of Greenland are retreating quickly and many of them are already ‘dead’. This means that glaciers stop producing icebergs, and instead, they just curb and melt on the ground, which means they aren’t cooling the ocean nearly as much.

This excursion takes us into the Icefiord north of Nuuk, where most of the icebergs in and around the Nuuk fiord originate from. It’s a majestic display of icebergs in all sorts of shapes and blue tones, and luckily there are still quite a few of them here.

Here, north of the abandoned settlement of Qoornoq, we’ll find a good spot among the ice where we can enjoy the included lunch, whilst listening to the glistening ice as bubbles of air are released when they slowly melt away.

After the lunch we sail to Camp Kangiusaq, where there is the opportunity to go for a walk and enjoy the beautiful surroundings in the area.

The tour is operated with our own Targa cabin boats with a heating system and indoor seatings for all. It is also possible to enjoy the cruise on the walkaround deck with comfortable seating outside.

Lunch is provided, as are coffee, tea or hot chocolate. Please message us if you have any dietary restrictions.

* OBS - If you should book this tour, within 18 hours before departure, we cannot guarantee to provide lunch for you, and you should bring your own lunch.
