“Watertaxi – Multiple franchise in west and north”
It is hereby published that Greenland Water Taxi has entered into new franchise agreements
with two other boat operators in Qasigiannguit and Maniitsoq respectively.
We will continue with the same concept in both Qasigiannguit and Maniitsoq where the focus will be on smallboat charters.
In Qasigiannguit you have the opportunity to invite some of the tourists down from Ilulissat who want to see another part of the disco bay and with short operating time to eg Aasiaat and other towns, we feel that Qasigiannguit is closely linked to our visions.
The cooperation takes place with Qasigiannguit Tourism & Charter, which has been started by our former skipper in Nuuk Water Taxi, Aannguaq Jerimiassen, so he has received a good training in concept, vision and mission.
“I’m glad that Aannguaq would like to start up with Water Taxi in Qasigiannguit, as there is also a great potential here with some amazing hidden places that only locals know. We will show them to the tourists. “Says Anders Lykke Laursen.
“I was happy when Anders suggested to start with Water Taxi in my hometown, as I think the whole concept about Water Taxi fits well with the smaller boats – We are looking forward to 2018!” Says a happy Aanguaq Jerimiassen.
In Maniitsoq, the cooperation will take place with the people of Arctic Wildlife Adventures, which already run a fishing camp in the Kangia Fjord at Maniitsoq.
“Maniitsoq has some amazing fjords and whales in great numbers, which we naturally want to help show to the tourists. In addition, there are many anglers as well as heliski tourists who come to Maniitsoq and can we help increase the number of them and bring in new ones, and maybe we can create even more jobs in Maniitsoq tourism. We believe it can be so. “Says Anders Lykke Laursen.
“The collaboration with Water Taxi means that we now feel that we are not alone in marketing ourselves and we can utilize the network and the recognition factor like Water Taxi. We know Maniitsoq, so who’s better to show it than us? We look really forward to next season, “says Karl Davidsen.
Within the next few weeks, the watertaxi.gl website will allow both private, business and foreign agents to book sailings with the yellow boats in all five destinations.

Her er uddrag af pressemeddelelse ved ejerskifte:
Press release on change of ownership (English version further down)

– It has been a very difficult decision, says Espen Andersen. We have had 15 fantastic years in Greenland, and there are many things we will miss. This also applies to Ilulissat Water Taxi, which has been really fun to start, and I am overwhelmed by the good reactions and launch the company has had.
The new owner is Anders Lykke Laursen. He comes from a position as categori manager in KNI A/S. Anders Lykke Laursen says: – It has been a dream for me to continue Ilulissat Water Taxi. It is a unique brand that has been built up, and I am looking forward to developing it further.
Espen Andersen continues: – I’m really happy that Anders takes over the company. We share the same passion for Greenlands stunning scenery, and what is also important is that we have the same focus on safety, service and development. So Anders is the right person to operate Ilulissat Water Taxi forward in the right spirit.
Visit Greenland is also pleased that the Ilulissat Water Taxi is preserved as a company in Greenland. Senior consultant Malik Milfeldt says:
– Ilulissat Water Taxi has been a breath of fresh air in the industry, and have had the edge in its marketing that has come far, and benefited the entire industry in Greenland. It is also a first mover project to show other entrepreneurs that it is possible to start a profitable micro-companies in the tourism industry.
